When the World Shakes: Anchoring Your Soul in the Unchanging Goodness of God If you feel like the ground beneath you has been vibrating lately, you are not alone. As we close out 2025 and look toward 2026, the prevailing cultural mood isn't one of optimistic resolution—it’s one of low-grade anxiety. We see it in global instability, we feel it in the deep divisions fracturing major church denominations, and we experience it in the economic and personal pressures of daily life. The writer of Hebrews spoke of a time when God would "shake not only the earth but also the heavens," so that "what cannot be shaken may remain" (Hebrews 12:26-27). It feels like we are living through a great shaking right now. In times like these, the most difficult—yet most vital—question a Christian can ask is: Is God still good? The world’s answer is "no." The skeptic’s answer is "if He is, He isn't very competent." But the biblical answer is a resounding ...

And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out for fear. But immediately he spoke to them, saying, “Take heart, it is I; have no fear.” |

Not sure if you have already watched a series called the Chosen but if you haven't yet I do recommend that you do. It is free to view in their The Chosen app. They did a very marvelous portrayal of Jesus and of the chosen people that were with Him during His time on Earth. Before, watching the chosen, I have had a hardened heart, filled with anger and hate and it was difficult for me to cry. After watching the Chosen, I don't know but each episode, God melts my heart and I swell up in tears every time and now I am in my journey to knowing Jesus a whole more.
On the last episode of season 3, they did a scene of this part of the Bible. Here's one of the Youtube videos of that clip c/o johnhiltoniii
