Beyond the Fire and Brimstone: 5 Impactful Truths About How We Read the Apocalypse

Beyond the Fire and Brimstone: 5 Impactful Truths About How We Read the Apocalypse I. Introduction: The Enigma of the Unveiling For centuries, the human imagination has been held captive by the specter of the "end of the world." Within contemporary discourse—from Hollywood’s high-octane disaster tropes to the sensationalist headlines of "prophecy experts"—the Book of Revelation is frequently reduced to a gothic horror script or an impenetrable riddle. However, as a scholar of contemporary religion, one must recognize that the Apocalypse is less a cinematic nightmare and more a rigorous hermeneutical battleground . The term apocalypse is derived from the Greek apokalypsis , meaning "unveiling" or "clarity." It is not a synonym for doom; rather, it signifies a profound covenantal shift . It is the King’s battle plan—a war report that pulls back the curtain on the power dynamics of heaven and earth. How we interpret this unveiling does not merely...

think of it, like really

If things like your male or female organs can be dismissed as easily by what one feels then it would be so much easier to dismiss attributes like age, height, weight, etc. Time will come when we would see biologically old and short people play in the NBA. Anyone can be a 7 foot 4, 21 year old player even if biologically they are only 5 foot 4 and 45 years old. Have a think about that?

How AI can be dangerous?

Computer systems have always been limited to the quality of input that it receives.  In other words, it has always been garbage in, garbage out.  No matter how good the quality of the software and the hardware.  Feed it with garbage and it spews out garbage. Now this had me thinking about AI and the perceived dangers that the experts have voiced out over them.  Are the dangers partly due that most people that use them aren't that highly intellectual at all and that they'll feed them with more garbage data rather than useful ones.  AIs are trained to learn the data input to them but the sad truth is, there are more stupid people than sensible ones. I've recently tried chatGPT and I let it try to improve on a blog that I wrote before.  As expected, it resulted to a piece that is well structured and pleasing to read.  What concerned me was that the thought was made completely opposite to what I originally wanted to convey.  I am anti-woke and s...

Everyone will miss the Guardians of the Galaxy

When the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 was being introduced into the MCU, I was skeptical about it and I have to be honest, one of its doubters as I have never heard of this group before.  I used to collect a lot of comic books growing up.  Psi Force was one of my faves before and yeah I didn't catch a glimpse of this team, not once.   So when the rising MCU decided to bring this group in to live action  I was intrigued and curious about how they will incorporate them into the MCU. The movie came, I watched and I surprisingly loved it.  It wasn't the best group of heroes and not necessarily the strongest bunch but they were a breath of fresh air and I kinda relate to them specially their broken, imperfect selves.  I can relate to Peter Quill's early loss of his mother and a distant, seemingly unloving paternal figure as well.  Also, like Star Lord, I listen to music to somehow take care of the pain. So when they said that it's all going to ...
